MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Jan. 28, 1987 <br />Hardy <br />CUP (Cont.) <br />business is buying and selling fleets around the country. <br />Scalze asked if retail sales were allowed in Light Industrial <br />districts. <br />The Planner replied that they were allowed by conditional use <br />permit if an accessory use to a principle use. The principle <br />use in this case is the wholesaling of used cars. <br />Mr. Hardy stated that it is not his intention to leave cars outside <br />his building. Nowever, the building holds 16 to 18 cars and there <br />may be times when there are a few cars outside. Hardy questioned <br />the Council's concern pointing out the trucks, bulldozers and other <br />equipmentstored outside on the various properties in Ryan Industrial <br />Park. <br />Scalze informed Mr. Hardy that the City has another case where <br />a car dealer stated that only 5 cars would be stored outside his <br />building, and there are as many as 20 outside the building at given <br />times. This car dealer deals in damaged cars. <br />Hardy replied that he does not deal in damaged cars, and usually only <br />owns a car for a matter of hours before it is sold. <br />Hardy again stated that if his intention was to retail cars, he would <br />not have chosen this particular location. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-1-32 - REMOVING FROM <br />TABLE ACTION ON THE THOMAS HARDY REQUEST <br />FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW RETAII <br />SALES AS AN ACCESSORY USE IN A LIGHT <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Reso1ution Book No. 17, Page 33. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-1-33 - APPROVING THE THOMAS <br />HARDY REQUEST FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO <br />ALLOW RETAIL SALES AS AN ACCESSORY USE IN A <br />LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT SUBJECT TO THE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED <br />IN HIS REPORT DATED JANUARY 8, 1987 AND WITH <br />THE APPROVAL OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE <br />Page -10- <br />
