MINUTES
City Council
Jan. 28, 1987
Imp. No. Deeb felt that the issue of watermain and sewer should be postponed
87-1 (Cont.l until the Gervais property is developed. Mr. Zilge agreed and pointed
out that sewer and water will most likely be brought in from South
Owasso to service this property, and felt that the City would be
premature in bringing sewer and water to proposed Soo Lane at the
time it is improved.
Fahey agreed that the issues of sewer and water could probably be
postponed, but felt that the road issue had to be resolved. Fahey
again indicated that the Building Inspector will need to determine
the necessity of sprinkler systems in any proposed building additions
before the issue of water could be resolved.
Zilge felt that sewer and water would be most economically brought
in through the Gervais property.
Fahey suggested that the Council hold the public hearing on the Donovan
request for a temporary trailer for use as an office, and table action
on the permit until the road issue is resolved, hopefully, within the
next two weeks.
Zilge pointed out that he, too, would like to add on to his building.
Fahey requested that the City Engineer make himself available, or
someone from his staff, to work with the Woolyn Avenue property
owners.
Fahey also pointed out that Mr. Zilge currently does have road access.
Zilge stated that he would like to add on a 800 to 900 square foot
addition, however, stated that he could not afford the assessments
for improvement of the area that the Engineer originally submitted.
Fahey stated that the owners will have to work with the Building
Inspector on the additions they would like to make to their buildings,
so that he can determine if the buildings need to be sprinklered.
Then the Engineer will have to determin~ if the buildings must be
sprinklered, if this can be done with a well system, or a watermain.
Scalze felt that easements for the road should be obtained from
South Owasso to Woodlyn Avenue whether the road is improved to
the edge of the Donovan property or the Deeb property. Scalze
felt there may be a problem with obtaining a road easement from
A. C. Black.
The Engineer reported that he recently discussed the road with A. C.
Black, and he was not opposed to the proposal.
Fahey asked the Council's feeling for requiring water and sewer
improvements at the time the road is improved.
Page -3-
