MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Feb. 11, 1987 <br />Qingo <br />(Cont.) <br />Recess <br />Bingo <br />(Cont.) <br />Finnerty explained that this tax could be retro-active to 1982, <br />and that the law is in existence, but has not been applied. <br />At this point in the meeting, 9:09 P.M. Council took a short recess. <br />The meeting was reconvened at 9:18 P.M. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-2-50 - FURTHER REQUESTING <br />THE CHARITIES INVOLVED AT THE LITTLE CANADA <br />BINGO ORGANIZATION TO SUBMIT TO THE CITY CLERK <br />PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 25, 1987 COPIES OF POLICE <br />REPORTS FOR EACH BINGO MANAGER OF THE VARIOUS <br />CHARITIES FROM THE POLICE OR SHERIFF'S <br />DEPARTMENT OPERATING IN THE CITY IN WNICH <br />TNEY RESIDE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, Blesener, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Bok No. 17, Page 52. <br />Pull-Tab Lois Blomberg, representing St. Joseph's Society, appeared before <br />License the Council requesting renewal of the pull-tab license for St. <br />St. Joseph's Joseph's at the Venetian Inn. Blomberg reported that she has <br />Society At submitted financial reports for this operation as well as the one <br />Venetian Inn at Gordies. Blomberg will approach the Council for the renewal <br />of the license at Gordies in the future. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 8 Blomberg also pointed out that the information being requested of <br />St. Joseph's Society in connection with the Little Canada Charitable <br />Bingo operation would apply in this instance as well. <br />LaValle felt that the same information should be submitted with <br />this request as well. <br />Blesener commended St. Joseph's Society for the report they <br />submitted showing monies collected and expenditures made in <br />connection with this pull-tab operation. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-2-51 - APPROVING A CLASS B <br />CHARITABLE GAMBLING LICENSE FOR ST. JOSEPH'S <br />SOCIETY TO HAVE PULL-TABS AT THE VENETIAN INN <br />BASED ON THE RECORDS SUBMITTED BY ST. JOSEPH'S <br />Page -12- <br />
