Ordinance declared adopted. <br />McCumber Fahey asked the status of the McCumber litigation. <br />Litigation <br />The City Attorney replied that the litigation has been dismissed <br />Agenda with the mutual exchange of releases. <br />Addition <br />1~87 Sewer Roger Glanzer, Public Works Superintendent, presented the proposed <br />& Water 1987 Sewer budget in the amount of $484,651. The 1986 Sewer Budget <br />3iadgets amounted to $452,742. Glanzer explained that increase in the budget <br />over 1986 was due to an increase in the Metro Sewer treatment charge <br />~genda which amounted to a 8.6% increase for sewage treatment and a 10.5% <br />Item No. 12a increase in lake overflo~~ charges. There is about a$4,000 increase <br />in the operation and maintenance portion of the budget. <br />Glanzer felt that if the budget is adopted as proposed, 1987 sewer <br />rates would not have to be increased. <br />Fahey pointed out that the City has no control of the Metro Sewer <br />treatment charges. <br />Blesener indicated that the total charge in lake overflow costs is <br />$99,000 for 1987. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-2-80 - APPROVING THE 1987 <br />SEI~IER BUDGET AS PRESENTED WITH A SE41ER RATE <br />OF $29.00 PER QUARTER FOR RESIDENTIAL USERS <br />AND A RATE OF $1.60 per 1,000 GALLONS OF WATER <br />USED FOR COMMERCIAL USERS, 4dHICH IS THE SAME <br />RATE THAT WAS CHARGED DURING 1986 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Collova, Blesener, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 85. <br />Glanzer presented the proposed 1987 Water Budget which amounted to <br />$529,871 compared to $469,521 in 1986. <br />C,lanzer pointed out to the Council that the City has been waiting <br />for the City of Maplewood to complete negotiations with the City <br />of St. Paul on water rates before it commences its own negotiations. <br />Page -11- <br />
