MINUTES <br />City Council <br />March 25, 1987 <br />Announcements <br />Mr. Fahey reported that he has received a letter from State <br />Agenda Representative Don Valento which states that he is opposed to <br />Item No. 4 the bill which provides that liquor establishments can remain <br />open until 3 A.M. Fahey read this letter to the Council which <br />also indicated that Valento will do his utmost to see that this <br />bill is defeated. <br />Mr. Blesener and Mrs. Scalze also went on record opposing adoption <br />of this bill. <br />Fahey read a letter from the Stage Door Angelettes which indicated <br />that their dance group has been chosen to represent the United States <br />in the Soviet Union. There will be two major fund-raising events <br />held to help finance the trip, and interested parties can contact <br />the Stage Door Performing Arts. <br />Fahey also read a proclamation which congratulates the Angelettes <br />on their being chosen to participate in this international tour. <br />Mr. alesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-3-115 - AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE A PROCLAMATION CONGRATULATING <br />THE STAGE DOOR AN6ELETTES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 126. <br />Public Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing on proposed zoning ordinance <br />Nearing On revisions that have been submitted to the Council. Fahey noted <br />Zoning that the Planning Commission tabled action on these revisions <br />Revisions pending a further report from the City Planner. <br />Agenda Mr. Christopher Cuneo, representing K& J Amusement, Inc., appeared <br />Item No. 5 before the Council on the ordinance revision pertaining to commercial <br />recreation. Cuneo reported that his client had hoped to lease the <br />Snyders site in the Little Canada Mall as the location of a pool hall, <br />however, this site has now been leased to another tenant. However, <br />Cuneo reported that he had some suggestions pertaining to the <br />commercial recreation portion of the ordinance as it may be possible <br />that his clients would still locate within the City. <br />Page -2- <br />
