MINUTES <br />City Council <br />April 8, 1987 <br />School <br />District <br />Recreational <br />Facilities <br />(Cont.) <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Rlesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 154. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-4-142 - PLACING A MORATORIUM <br />ON THE REZONING OF PUBLICALLY ZONED PROPERTY <br />FOR A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS OR UNTIL THE EARLIER <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE <br />PRESERVATION OF PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES <br />WHICH ARE A PART OF SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY, <br />BUT ARE USED BY THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, ~aValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 155. <br />Fahey suggested that the City Clerk send a letter to the School <br />District advising them of the moratorium and the reasons for it. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-4-143 - INFORMING THE SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT THAT ON THE BASIS OF THE REPORT OF THE <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE, THE CITY IS NOT INTERESTED <br />IN PARTICIPATING IN THE ADDITION OF A LARGER <br />GYMNASIUM FACILITY ONTO TNE LITTLE CANADA SCHOOL, <br />BUT ~AOULD IMMEDIATELY LIKE TO PURSUE THE PURCHASE <br />OF SPOONER PARK <br />The foregoing resolution was d.uly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (~) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Abstains (1) Blesener. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 156. <br />The City Engineer reported that he has the survey work of Spooner <br />Park completed, but he has to draw up the legal discriptions. <br />Page -31- <br />
