MINUTES
City Council
April 22, 1987
Bingo Scalze reported that she has been informed that more money is going
(Cont.) into LCCB for rent than is being paid to Tom Short.
Fahey stated that he was opposed to denying the licenses on the
basis of the existence of the Hall Association, even though the
association might be determined legal, since Fahey felt that the
City should not be involved any more than it is obligated to
under the law. And if the law says the Hall Association is legal,
then it is acceptable to him.
Scalze stated that she was not in favor of the Nall Association
as there appears to be a problem with employees.
Blesener stated that he wants the gambling board to take their
responsibility and do their job.
Lois Blomberg reported that the lease agreement with Tom Short
requires $137,000 in annual rent, however, the rent being charged
the charities on a per session basis amounts to $263,120 annually.
11 correction ~~ $ 126 00000
Scal ze asked where thi s$t4~-,~flQ- i s goi ng.
Re s. 8 7-5- l94
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-4-166 - DENYING THE RENEWAL
OF THE CHARITABLE G.AMRLING LICFNSES FOR THE
NORTH SUBURBAN DAC, LIONS CLUB, SERVANTS OF
MARY, ST.
