MINUTES
City Council
May 13, 1987
City Pin
Agenda
Addition
Bids For
Dump Body
For Pick-
Up Truck
Agenda
Item No. 16a
Mr. Fahey suggested that the City conduct a contest or competition
for the creation of a City pin.
Scalze suggested that the Mayor look into having a designer create
a pin and felt that the City might be limited in the types of design
by a competition.
Fahey stated that he would research the matter further.
Blesener reported that the City recently took bids for a dump body
for the new pick-up truck that is on order. The following bids were
received:
Crysteel Truck Equipment $4,687
L & Z Company $4,424
Truck Utilities $4,780
Blesener reported that the L& Z bid had to be disqualified as it
did not meet City specifications.
It was the recommendation of Public blorks that the Crysteel Truck
Equipment bid be accepted and awarded.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-208 - ACCEPTING AND AWARDING
THE BID OF CRYSTEEL TRUCK EQUIPMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $4,687 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A DUMP BODY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by ~4r. Fahey.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle.
Dlays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 226.
Street Mr. Blesener reported that the developers of the Westwinds Development
Lighting are requesting the same type of street lighting on their new street
In Westwinds as they have on the first street in the development. The request is
for ornamental lighting and 8 street lights.
Agenda
Item No. 16c Blesener reported that the City has a new street lighting policy in
place that was not in place when the first street was put in. Under
the street lighting policy, the developer would be required to pay
for the ornamental lights, and only about two street lights would be
permitted.
Blesener reported that he recommends that the City allow the developer
to install the ornamental lights at his own expense, and that any
lights over what is provided for by City policy, the property owners
would have to pay for the cost of operation. Blesener suggested that
the property owners could be billed or assessed this cost.
Page -13-
