MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 13, 1987 <br />Expansion Scalze reported that the Park Commission would like the Council to <br />Of Parking reconsider their position regarding the expansion of the lower parking <br />Lot In lot in Spooner Park. The Council previously denied the expansion <br />Spooner due to the question of acquisition of the property as well as some <br />Park other concerns. The Park Commission feels there is a need to <br />expand the parking lot for the summer of 1987. <br />Agenda <br />Addition Collova felt that there was a need for additional parking. <br />Scalze pointed out that the estimated cost of the expansion is <br />between $20,000 and $25,000 and pointed out that the money has been <br />budgeted for and has been carried over from previous budgets for <br />the past couple of years. <br />The Council asked to review the lay-out of the proposed expansion. <br />Fahey indicated that it was his feeling that the project should wait <br />until acquisition of the park is resolved, and pointed out the <br />pending acquisition of the Mosted property as well as the issue of <br />property at Capital View and the Centerville Road area. Fahey <br />felt the prime consideration at this point was obtaining the land. <br />Blesener pointed out that regardless if Spooner Park is acquired, <br />the City will continue to use the fields for the next few years. <br />Fahey felt that the matter was not critical at this point. <br />The City Clerk went to obtain a copy of the proposed expansion so <br />that the Council could review it. <br />Cushman Scalze reported that the Recreation Department received three bids <br />Truckster for the purchase of a Cu shman truckster. Bids were received from <br /> Illinois Lawn Equipment, Horst Distributing and Cushman Motor Company <br />Agenda in Minneapolis. The low bid was received from Cushman Motor Company <br />Addition in the amount of $8,220. <br /> The Recreation Director recommends that the low bid of Cushma n Motor <br /> Company be awarded. <br /> Mrs. Scalze introduced t he following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-211 - APPROVING APID ACCEPTING <br />THE BID OF CUSHMAN MOTOR COMPANY IN THE AP10UNT OF <br />$8,220.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CUSHMAN TRUCKSTER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 229. <br />Page -16- <br />
