MI~IUTEs <br />City Council <br />P1ay 13 , 1987 <br />Recreation Scalze reported that there are 130 girls signed up for softball <br />Report and will be playing in the ~laplewood League, there is 1 team of <br />senior girls in the Oakdale League and 3 junior teams for girls. <br />Agenda There are 8 baseball teams this year and 10 T-Ball teams. 28 <br />Addition children have registered for tennis lessons. <br />Lower The City Clerk submitted the plan for the expansion of the Spooner <br />Parking Park lower parking lot, which Council reviewed. <br />Lot <br />Construction Scalze pointed out that the money is budgeted. However, Scalze was <br />(Cont.) not sure there was adequate time to get the project completed in <br />1987. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-212 - RECONSIDERING THE <br />CITY S PREVIOUS POSITION ON THE EXPANSION <br />OF THE LOWER PARKING LOT I~I SPOONER PARK IF <br />BIDS CAN BE OBTAINED WITHIN THE $25,000 BUDGET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (1) Fahey. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution f3ook No. 17, Page 230. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-213 - AUTHORIZING BILL <br />SANDERS TO PREPARE SPECIFICATIONS AND ADVERTISE <br />FOR L~IDS FOR PARKING LOT EXPANSION OF THE LOfdER <br />PARKING LOT IN SPOONER PARK SUBJECT TO THE <br />APPROVAL OF THF SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution ftook No. 17, Page 231. <br />Centerville Fahey reported that the Council recently held a workshop meeting with <br />Road Area & the property owners in the Centerville Road area to review the <br />Park soil conditions of the area and whether the area would support <br />Acquisition industrial development. Fahey indicated that the property owners <br />are of the feeling that soils will support industrial development, <br />Agenda and it was concluded that there are approximately 17 acres north <br />Addition of the Montreal Courts site that may be available to the City for <br />park acquisition. <br />Page -17- <br />
