MINUTES
City Council
P9ay 13, 1987
Centerville Whether or not it will be feasible-for the City to purchase this
Road Area property will depend on soil borings being done to determine the
(Cont.) quality of the soils in this area.
Collova reported that he talked to a soil engineer and he felt that
borings would only need to be drilled to a depth of 15 to 20 feet
in this area. Therefore, the cost of borings may be less expensive
than previously anticipated.
Collova suggested that the City hire a testing company to do one
day of testing in the area. Collova estimated the cost at
approximately $1,500.
Blesener felt that some tests on the northern property should be done
as well, that is the Hyland property, the Mariano Frattalone property,
and the Dave Frattalone property, as well as the property on the
south which is the Fasciana property, the Bibeau property and the
David & Patrine Frattalone property.
Scalze noted that Mr. Frattalone indicated that his fields have been
pl anted.
The Engineer reported that he will coordinate the testing so that
fields are not disturbed.
Collova also indicated that drilling should be done during a dry
period as it becomes more costly to drill during a wet period.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-214 - ORDERING SOIL RORINGS
TO BE DONE ON THE FOLLOWING PARCELS LOCATED IN
THE CENTERVILLE ROAD AREA: THE OWEM HYLAND
PROPERTY, THE MARIANO FRATTALONE PROPERTY, THE
DAVE FRATTALONE PROPERTY, THE FASCIANA PROPERTY,
THE FLORENCE BIBEAU PROPERTY, AP1D THE DAVID &
PATRINE FRATTAI.ONE PROPERTY, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO HIRE TWIN CITY TESTING TO DO ONE
DAY OF SOIL TESTS ON THESE PROPERTIES
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Scalze, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 232,
Plans For The City Engineer submitted plans for the improvement of Demont
Demont and requested Council approval.
