MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 27, 19°7 <br />Boosalis The Planner reported that Code allows a convenience store to operate <br />Development during the hours of 6 A.P1. and Midnight. Boosalis is requesting <br />(Cont.) that his tenant, Food and Fuel, be granted permission to have a 24- <br />hour operation. <br />Blesener felt that adiacent residential areas were far enough away <br />that this would not present a problem. <br />P9r. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-236 - ALLOWIMG FOOD <br />AND FUEL, WHICH IS TO BE A TENANT OF <br />THE BOOSALIS DEVELOPMENT AT THE CORNER <br />OF RICE STREET APID COUNTY ROAD C, TO <br />OPERATE A 24-HOUR OPERATION DUE TO THE <br />FACT THAT ADJACENT RESIDE~ITIAL AREAS ARE <br />FAR ENOUGH A41AY SO THAT TNERE SHOULD BE <br />~0 PROBLEM <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P1r. Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Scalze. <br />~lays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution 6ook No. 17, Page 254. <br />Recess At this point in the meeting, 9:17 P.P4., Council took a short recess. <br />The meeting was reconvened at 9:25 P.M. <br />Qingo Fahey reported that the City has received applications for charitable <br />gambling license renewal from the Lions Club, North Suburban DAC, <br />Agenda St. Joseph's Society, Servants of Mary, Humane Society, and Minnesota <br />Item No. 15 Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. <br />Fahey outlined previous Council actions in which the Council voted <br />to decline renewal of such applications. Since that time the <br />Little Canada Charitable Bingo Hall Association has been meeting <br />with the State Gambling Control Board in an attempt to get the <br />State to rule on thelegality of the structure of LCCB. Fahey <br />stated that to his knowledge, this ruling has not been made. <br />The City Attorney reported that he has talked with Roger Franke of <br />the State Gambling Control Board who indicated that the Board has <br />postponed consideration of the license renewal applications until <br />their next meeting on June 29. Franke reported that there are <br />three issues yet to be resolved in addition to the issue of LCCB <br />acting as leasee of the premises. <br />The City Attorney reported that the letter received from the North <br />Page -17- <br />
