P4I NUTES
City Council
June 24, 1987
Rezoning Scalze pointed out that the property is unique in that there is no
Of St. frontage on a public road. Scalze pointed out that Joe Collova
John's dedicated the road frontage to the City, and felt that the City will
Credit have to take this into account when development plans are being
Union considered.
(Cont.)
Fahey pointed out that the building is currently non-conforming and
stated that he would have to be convinced that variances are warranted.
Fahey felt this expansion had to be measured against the same criteria
that other additions are measured against.
The Planner noted that the variances required for the expansion deal
with lot size and the preformance standards for setback, lot width
and lot area.
DeBace pointed out that the existing building does not meet these
standards.
Blesener felt that the Council had to consider the area which abutts
business zoning, P,B zoning and the Water IJorks property.
The Planner reported that he has not evaluated the building expansion
proposal, however, the lot is a lot of record, setbacks have been
established and the proposal is not to increase a setback violation.
The parking situation would also have to be evaluated.
Blesener pointed out that the expansion is consistent with what the
City did with the expansion of the Saxon allowing the existing setback
to be extended. Blesener also pointed out that a house in an R-1 area
is allowed to expand and retain the existing setback.
The Planner pointed out that R-1 homes are non-income producing residential
units.
There was no one else from the general public wishing to comment on
the St. John's Credit Union rezoning request.
f~r. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-6-284 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC
HEARING OP•! THE REQUEST OF ST.
