RESOLUTION N0. 87-6-293 - AUTHORIZI~IG THE CITY E~IGINEER TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO APPLY FOR A PERPIIT FROM THE STATE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A BERM ON HIGHWAY DEPARTf+iEP1T RIGHT-OF-WAY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. Ayes (5) 6lesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution 6ook Mo. 17, Page 318. Demont Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Street Improvement RESOLUTION N0. 87-6-294 - ACCEPTING AND AWARDING (Cont.) TNE LOLJ BID OF FRATTALONE EXCAVATING IN THE AP~OUNT OF $743,284.93 FOR THE IMPROVEP4ENT OF DEP10NT FROP1 RICE STREET TO INTERSTATE 35E The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by R1rs. Scalze. Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 319. Scalze suggested that the Engineer check into the feasibility of striping Demont for a bike path and whether this is acceptable under State Aid designation. The Engineer felt there would be adequate room for a bike path as the street will be 36 feet wide, and reported that he will check with the State and report back. Condemnation The Engineer reported that he has not been able to obtain an easement Of Easement on the Saiko property for the improvement of Demont, although he felt Saiko that the easement would be provided shortly. However, it was the Property Engineer's recommendation that the City Attorney begin condemnation proceedings for the easement so that the project will not be held up by the lack of this easement. LaValle pointed out pending litigation due to a water problem from the trailer courts. The Engineer reported that the improvement of Demont will resolve this water problem. Page -22-
