D1I NUTFS <br />City Council <br />July 8, 1987 <br />Curbing felt that water would seep through the curb and in the winter freeze <br />(Cont.) and the curb will be broken up. <br />The City Engineer reported that he is aware of Mr. Blackford's concern, <br />and stated that he will meet with the contractor on site to try to <br />resolve the situation. <br />Recess At this point in the meeting, 9:15 P.M., Council took a short recess. <br />The meeting was reconvened at 9:21 P.M. <br />Consulting Mr. Darwell Lindahl, Short, Elliott, Hendrickson, appeared before the <br />Services Council and presented a proposal for the expansion of the City Center. <br />In City Lindahl explained that his firm has been working on the proposal for <br />Center the last several months, and the expansion diagram is the result. <br />Expansion Lindahl explained the proposed lay-out. <br />Proposal <br />Blesener felt the diagram was a good starting point and <br />Agenda suggested that he discuss the lay-out with City departments <br />Item No.14 alesener stated that he would compile the various comments and then <br />another meeting should be held with SEH. Blesener felt that any expansion <br />of the City Center should meet the needs of the City for the next 10 to <br />15 years. <br />Scalze felt that perhaps a survey should be done so that citizens can <br />input on this proposal. <br />Lindahl submitted a proposal from SEH for working with the City on the <br />expansion. The proposal would be to charge for services of SEH on an <br />hourly basis up to a maximum of $3,500. Lindahl reported that when the <br />cost got to 75% of the $3,500, SEH would notify the City. <br />The City Attorney suggested that an hourly rate schedule be attached <br />to the contract, and that the contract appeared to be in order. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-7-312 - APPROVING THE <br />CONTRACT WITH SHORT, ELLIOTT AND HEMDRICKSON <br />TO PROVIDE SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION IdI~N POSSIBLE <br />CITY CE~ITER EXPANSIOPI AT AN HOURLY RATE NOT TO <br />EXCEED A TOTAL OF $3,500 AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />ACTING MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN SUCH <br />CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, AND FURTHER <br />STIPULATING THAT API HOURLY RATE SCHEDULE BE <br />ATTACHED TO THE CONTRACT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P4r.
