P~INUTES
City Council
July 22, 1987
Kingsbury P4r. Kingsbury pointed out that the problem will get worse from the
Drainage new streets that are being added to the area.
Problem
(Cont.) The Engineer reported that while the majority of the drainage from
the new streets will run north, a portion will flow towards LaBore
Road.
Gene Pew, 3036 Thunder Bay Road, appeared before the Council reporting
that a storm sewer is being installed behind his home. Pew reported
that he has a walk-out home and informed the Council that drainage
in the back of his property has not been adequate. Pew also reported
that he was not aware that storm sewer was going to be installed
in this area until work began.
Fahey reported that the storm sewer project was on record and the
City Engineer was also aware of the project.
Pew reported that he contacted City Center and was informed that there
were no plans to do anything with the existing ditch. Pew reported
that had he known about the storm sewer he would have planned his
retaining wall differently.
Pew also reported that there is dirt stockpiled in the area that
should be removed, and asked how the area will be finished off.
The City Engineer replied that the project is not complete, but when
it is top soil will be brought in and the area seeded.
Fahey suggested that the discussion was premature at this point as
the project is not complete. If the project is not done in a
satisfactory manner, Pew should address the Council at that time.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-7-332 - DIRECTING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO REVIEW THE KINGSBURY
DRAINAGE PROQLEM AND REPORT TO THE COUNCIL
AT THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Collova, LaValle, Blesener.
Nays (O1.
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 359.
Twin Lake The City Engineer reported that he has finished preliminary plans
Trail Berm for the Twin Lake Trail berm as discussed at the last Council
meeting and these have been submitted to the State along with a
Agenda permit application. The permit process is estimated to take 3 to
Item No. 14 5 weeks, although there is a resident of the area who works for the
State who will try to move the permit along faster.
Page -16-
