MINUTES City Council July 22, 1987 Plidwest Mopar Sales & Service (Cont.) Scalze asked if Feig has looked at locations in other cities to locate his business. Feig replied that the problem is finding smaller, affordable space for a business such as his. Scalze pointed out that City Code has been amended to disallow junk yards in the City. Feig stated that he did not view his business as a junk yard. Scalze replied that used auto parts yards are not allowed under City Code. Feig asked the Council to consider the conditional use permit and the business license separately. Fahey poinc?d out fihat auto service is a permitted use in the park and a business license is required, which does not require Council action. Feig stated that he would like the business license regardless of how the Council acts on the conditional use permit. There was no one else present wishing to comment on the Feig request for conditional use permit for auto parts sales. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 87-7-321 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE REQUEST OF MIDWEST MOPAR SALES AND SERVICE FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR AUTO PARTS SALES The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 346. Scalze suggested that if the Council approves the conditional use permit a bond be required to ensure that the improvements are made to the property as recommended by the Planner. Fahey noted that the permit could be revoked should the improvements not be made. Fahey also suggested that if the conditional use permit is approved, the applicant be given 90 days to get the improvements in. Page -3-
