MINUTES <br />City Council <br />July 22, 1987 <br />Plidwest <br />Mopar <br />Sales & <br />Service <br />(Cont.) <br />Scalze asked if Feig has looked at locations in other cities to <br />locate his business. <br />Feig replied that the problem is finding smaller, affordable space <br />for a business such as his. <br />Scalze pointed out that City Code has been amended to disallow junk <br />yards in the City. <br />Feig stated that he did not view his business as a junk yard. <br />Scalze replied that used auto parts yards are not allowed under <br />City Code. <br />Feig asked the Council to consider the conditional use permit and <br />the business license separately. <br />Fahey poinc?d out fihat auto service is a permitted use in the park <br />and a business license is required, which does not require Council <br />action. <br />Feig stated that he would like the business license regardless of <br />how the Council acts on the conditional use permit. <br />There was no one else present wishing to comment on the Feig request <br />for conditional use permit for auto parts sales. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-7-321 - CLOSING THE <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE REQUEST OF MIDWEST <br />MOPAR SALES AND SERVICE FOR CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT FOR AUTO PARTS SALES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 346. <br />Scalze suggested that if the Council approves the conditional use <br />permit a bond be required to ensure that the improvements are made <br />to the property as recommended by the Planner. <br />Fahey noted that the permit could be revoked should the improvements <br />not be made. <br />Fahey also suggested that if the conditional use permit is approved, <br />the applicant be given 90 days to get the improvements in. <br />Page -3- <br />
