MINUTES
City Council
August 12, 1987
Twin Lake The Engineer reported that he has a meeting with the Highway Department
Trail Berm to discuss the proposed Twin Lake Trail berm scheduled for Friday at
8 A.M.
Agenda
Addition
Wright The City Engineer felt that there was sufficient frontage represented
& Noel Dr. on the petition for the improvement of Noel Drive to call for a public
Improvement hearing.
Agenda However, the City Clerk pointed out that watermain should be extended
Addition down Al1en Avenue to De Soto to pick up some homes in that area who are
without City water and that given th e amount of front footage involved,
the petition would not be adequate.
Council discussed this and felt that given the large amount of footage
involved and the limited number of homes that could be assessed for
the improvement, the public hearing scheduled for August 26th should
be cancelled so that this can be discussed with David Wright, the
petitioner for the improvement. It was noted that Mr. Wright would
have to pick up a great amount of the assessment for the improvement.
Scalze also noted that the temporary cul-de-sac for Noel Drive would
have to be located on the Wright property as the City Clerk has
indicated that the property owner to the south does not want the cul-de-sac
on his property.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-8-363 - CANCELLING TNE PUBLIC
HEARING SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 26, 1987 REGARDING
THE DAVID WRIGHT SUBDIVISION AND INSTRUCTING THE
CITY CLERK TO ADVISE MR. WRIGHT THAT IN ORDER TO
MAKE HIS DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL FEASIBLE, GIVEN THE
EXISTING LOTS IN THE AREA, IT WILL BE NECESSARY
TO BRING WATERP1AIN DOWN ALLEN AVENUE TO DESOTO
AND THAT HE WOULD BEAR TNE MAJOR PORTION OF THE
COST OF THIS WATERMAIN AND, THEREFORE, REQUESTS
THAT MR. WRIGHT MEET INFORMALLY WITH THE CITY
ENGINEER AND CITY CLERK TO RE-EVAIUATE THE DEVELOPMENT
PROPOSAL AND DETERMINE WHETHER HE WANTS TO PROCEED
WITH THE PROJECT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Collova, Scalze, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 389.
page -10-
