MINUTES
City Council
August 12, 1987
Kingsbury RESOLUTION N0. 87-8-360 - AUTHORIZING THE
Drainage CITY ENGINEER TO DEPOSIT DIRT ON THE KINGSBURY
(Cont.) PROPERTY AS HE FEELS NECESSARY TO RESOLVE A
DRAINAGE PROBLEM AS WELL AS AUTHORIZING THE
ENGINEER TO HAVE THE CULVERT ON THE KINGSBURY
PROPERTY NEAR THE LAKE REPAIRED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaUalle, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 386.
Edgerton The City Engineer outlined the situation that occurred last year when
Drainage the County exposed a gas main on Edgerton. At that time the need for
storm sewer was discussed. Since then Gordie Flowe's plat on Edgerton
Agenda has been approved and the length of storm sewer will need to be
Item No. 9 extended.
( imp. 86-17) The Engineer reported that about 1,000 feet of storm sewer will be
necessary and the storm sewer will have to be located under the
bike path on Edgerton as there is no other room given the existence
of two gas mains, sewer, water, telephone cable and possibly Cable TV
cable already along Edgerton.
The Engineer estimated the cost of the storm sewer at $110,000 and
pointed out that a considerable amount of this cost will be paid by
Northern States Power. However, this has to be negotiated with
NSP.
Blesener referred to a letter received from P~ichael Froelich, property
owner on Edgerton, which indicated that law requires gas mains to be
buried at least 36 inches below the ground.
The Engineer did not know if this was a requirement and noted that
the existing gas main is about 15 inches below the ground.
Blesener pointed out the necessity for driveways onto Edgerton in
this area, and possible problems with obtaining driveway permits
due to the depth of the gas main.
Collova indicated that the Building Inspector informed him that the
City is not aware of a problem with new homes obtaining driveway
permits.
The Engineer reported that he will report further on the proposed storm
sewer line after he has completed negotiations with NSP.
Page -6-
