MINUTES <br />City Council <br />August 12, 1987 <br />Drainage The City Clerk pointed out that the railroad is considering abandoning <br />3020 Rice the spur track that goes to the Fuel Economy property. The Clerk noted <br />Street (Cont.) that at the time this track was installed, there was some filling <br />done in the ditch which may have effected the drainage of the area. <br />Council discussed this and felt that prior to the filling some of the <br />run-off from the area flowed to the north into the pond near the Knox <br />property. <br />Fahey suggested that the City Engineer review this and determine if <br />at one time due to the natural topography of the land drainage flowed <br />north. Fahey suggested that the whole area could be considered in <br />October when the State completes its work in the area. <br />Assessment The City Engineer reported that the assessment reapportionments for <br />Reappor- Division Nos. 060888 and 060863 as outlined in Council agendas were <br />tionment routine and recommended approval. <br />Div. Nos. <br />060888 & Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />060863 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-8-361 - APPROVING THE <br />Agenda ASSESSMENT REAPPORTIONMENTS FOR DIVISION <br />Item No. 11 NOS. 060888 AND 060863 AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />THE CITY ENGINEER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Fahey, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 387. <br />Culvert The City Engineer reported that there is a problem in the area of <br />Guards Ditch No. 7 where the ditch begins to run into a pipe with debree <br />Ditch No. 7 plugging the culvert. The Engineer reported that he is recommending <br /> that a culvert or trash guard be installed in this area. :The <br />Agenda Engineer reported that he obtained three prices for installation <br />Item No. 12 of such a guard, the first being in the amount of $2,650 which involves <br /> the use of one flared end section. The second involves a flared end <br /> section plus one 8 foot length of pipe for $3,800, and the third <br /> involves two lengths of pipe plus a trash guard for $4,750. The <br />(xoule ) Engineer recommended that the alternative involving the one pipe <br />( change ) section plus trash guard be installed for $3,800. <br />( order- ) <br />( No.-2- ) Blesener asked if a portion of the pipe would be covered. <br /> The Engineer replied that it would and that filling would be done in <br /> such a way as to not damage the existing trees in the area. <br />page -8- <br />
