MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Sept. 9, 1987 <br />Claim For Blesener reported that the City has received a claim from P1r. Owens <br />Cul-De-Sac on Thunder Bay Road for removal of the temporary cul-de-sac in front <br />Removal of his property. Blesener reported that the City removed the other <br />three cul-de-sacs at considerably less cost, and it is the recommendation <br />Agenda of Public l~lorks that the City not pay Mr. Owens' claim. <br />Item No. 13a <br />Scalze suggested that Owens be reimbursed in the amount the City spent <br />to remove the temporary cul-de-sac. <br />Blesener suggested that he discuss this with the Public Works <br />Superintendent and that perhaps Public t~orks will be able to resolve <br />the matter with the property owner. Blesener will report back to <br />the Council. <br />Kingsbury Fahey suggested that the Council review the letter received from the <br />Drainage Building Inspector regarding the fillin g Mr. Kingsbury has done on <br />& Filling his property in an attempt to correct a drainage problem. <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />Street Scalze reported that there is blacktop smeared over the curb and g!atters <br />Improvements in some areas of the City's new street improvements. Scalze suggested <br /> that the Engineer look at the situation and, if possible, have it <br />Agenda corrected. <br />Addition <br /> Collova also stated that there is poor workmanship in some areas where <br /> the concrete curb abutts blacktop curb. <br /> The Engineer replied that the blacktop was never intended to be a <br /> curb, but just a gutter. However, the Engineer stated that he would <br /> look at the area. <br />Centerville Scalze reported that the appraisal for the Centerville Road property <br />Road has been completed and felt that a public hearing should be held <br />Property with the property owners in the area. <br />Agenda Council discussed the possibility of obtaining signed options for the <br />Item No. 15a property so that it would have firm prices to present at the public <br />hearing. <br />Fahey noted that the City is interested in acquiring 15 to 20 acres <br />of property in this area for park. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-9-434 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC <br />HEARING FOR OCTOBER 14, 1987 WITH THE PUBLIC <br />HEARING NOTICE TO STATE THAT LITTLE CANADA IS <br />INTERESTED IN CONSIDERING THE PURCHASE OF <br />APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 ACRES OF INDUSTRIALLY- <br />ZONED PROPERTY ALONG CENTERVILLE ROAD IMMEDIAT~LY <br />P~na -19- <br />
