MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Sept. 23, 1987 <br />Little The City Clerk reported that the Minnesota Highway Department has <br />Canada Rd. informed him that work will begin on the Little Canada Road bridge <br />Bridge in the spring. <br />Project <br />Fahey asked when the railroad bridge over Rice Street will be <br />Agenda completed. <br />Addition <br />The City Engineer reported that it was his understanding that the <br />bridge will be completed in October. <br />Park Scalze reported that a$200 add-on for speed bumps and a$500 add-on <br />Improvement for tree removal were necessary in the Spooner Park parking lot <br />Add-Ons expansion project. There was also a$225 add-on for irises in the <br />Gervais Mill Park. <br />Agenda <br />Addition Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-9-460 - APPROVIPIG THE <br />ADD-ONS TO THE SPOONER PARK LObIER PARKING <br />LOT EXPANSION IN THE AMOUNT OF $700 AND THE <br />ADD-ONS FOR LA~IDSCAPI~IG IN GERUAIS MILL PARK <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $225 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Collova, Fahey, Blesener, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 486. <br />Recreation Scalze reported that Recreation salaries have been discussed for the <br />Salaries last few years,and specifically at the 1987 budget meeting, when the <br /> Recreation Directors were asked to do a time study of their positions. <br />Agenda Scalze reported that the Council now has the results of that study. <br />Icem No. 16b <br /> Scalze pointed out that for 1987 she proposed a 29.25% salary increase <br /> for the Recreation Directors. However, the Council approved a 5.5% <br /> increase with further consideration to be given to the 29.25% when <br /> the results of the time study were compiled. <br /> Scalze also submitted for Council consideration salary comparison <br /> fiqures of recreation salaries for similar-sized cities as well as <br /> comparisons of other part-time salaries being paid in the City. <br />Scalze pointed out that in the last few years the City's population <br />has grown and the demand on the Recreation program has grown as well. <br />Scalze also outlined the additional full-time and part-time positions <br />that have been added to the City's staff as a result of the growing <br />demand for City services. <br />Page -23- <br />
