Ayes (3) Fahey, Collova, LaValle. Nays (2) Scalze, Blesener. Resolution denied. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 466. P1r. Collova introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. ~7-9-442 - DENYING THE SLUMBERLAND VARIANCE REQUEST FOR INCREASED SIGN AREA The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. Ayes (5) Collova, Blesener, Scalze, LaValle, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Qook No. 18, Page 467. Fahey pointed out that Slumberland will have to stay within the parameters of the City's existing sign ordinance. Maplewood Mr. Bob Polski, attorney representing Don Nelson, appeared before the Annexation Council and reviewed his letter dated September l, 1987 regarding the proposed annexation of a portion of the City of Maplewood to Little Agenda Canada. Polski reported that the property in question is the Dick Item No. 6 Anderson property, which Mr. Nelson is purchasing. Polski reported that the reasons for annexation are safety ones, namely fire protection and the availability of water from Little Canada. Polski reported that Mr. Nelson plans to develop the property with single-family homes in the $150,000 to $175,000 range. polski reported that Mr. Nelson owns Custom Contractors and has been in business for 10 to 15 years. Polski reported that he has met with the City of Maplwood and the City Clerk Joe Chlebeck on this matter, and it appears that Maplewood would be in favor of the annexation. Page -4-
