Collova introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. ~7-9-442 - DENYING THE <br />SLUMBERLAND VARIANCE REQUEST FOR INCREASED <br />SIGN AREA <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Collova, Blesener, Scalze, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Qook No. 18, Page 467. <br />Fahey pointed out that Slumberland will have to stay within the <br />parameters of the City's existing sign ordinance. <br />Maplewood Mr. Bob Polski, attorney representing Don Nelson, appeared before the <br />Annexation Council and reviewed his letter dated September l, 1987 regarding the <br /> proposed annexation of a portion of the City of Maplewood to Little <br />Agenda Canada. Polski reported that the property in question is the Dick <br />Item No. 6 Anderson property, which Mr. Nelson is purchasing. Polski reported <br /> that the reasons for annexation are safety ones, namely fire <br /> protection and the availability of water from Little Canada. <br /> Polski reported that Mr. Nelson plans to develop the property with <br /> single-family homes in the $150,000 to $175,000 range. polski <br /> reported that Mr. Nelson owns Custom Contractors and has been in <br /> business for 10 to 15 years. <br /> Polski reported that he has met with the City of Maplwood and the <br /> City Clerk Joe Chlebeck on this matter, and it appears that Maplewood <br /> would be in favor of the annexation. <br />Page -4- <br />
