MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Nov. 4, 1987 <br />Waite Blesener~ pointed out that the Engineer~ deter~mined that it was not <br />Subdivision feasible to put the str•eet in thr~ough to Demont. <br />& Variance <br />Matter Fahey pointed out that the Waite subdivision r•equest is consistent <br />Cont.) with the subdivision the City r•ecently appr•oved for~ the Hauth's. <br />Mr~. Blesener~ intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-11-537 - RECONSIDERING THE <br />COUNCIL S PREVIOUS ACTION DENYING THE ROCKNE <br />WAITE SUf3DIVISION REQUEST <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by P9r•. Fahey. <br />Ayes (51 Blesener•, Fahey, Collova, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar•ed adopted. <br />This r~esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 586. <br />Fahey reported that one of the adjacent property owners to the !~aite <br />pr~oner•ty has expr~essed concer•n about the gr•ade of the pr•operty, and <br />whether~ the pr•oper•ty was buildable due to this gr•ade. <br />The City Fngineer• pr~esented the Council with topos, and cr•oss-sections <br />of the pr~oper•ty showing that ther•e is adequate r~oom on the pr•oper•ty <br />to build a house. <br />Fahey asked if even with a 30 foot setback fr•om the easement line, <br />would the pr~oper•ty be buildable. <br />The Engineer• r•eplied that the pr•oper~ty would be buildable even with a <br />30 foot fr•ont yar•d setback fr~om the easement line, however•, the back <br />yar•d would pr•obably be only 15 feet deep befor•e the pr•oper•ty slopes off. <br />Scalze asked if the back of the lot could be filled. <br />The Engineer• pointed out that ther•e ar~e houses beyond the lot which <br />ar•e even lower~ yet. The Engineer~ commented that something would <br />have to be done with the dr•ainage of the proper•ty so it will not <br />effect the houses in the back. <br />The Engi neer• r•epl i ed that he wi 11 r•evi ew the si te for• appr•opr•i ate <br />dr•ainage easements. <br />Mr•. Blesener• intr~oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION ~10. 87-11-538 - APPROVING THE ROCKNE <br />WAITE PROPERTY DIVTSION AS REQUESTED DIVIDING <br />LOTS 12 THROUGH 20, NORTN HFIGNTS ADDITION INTO <br />THREE LOTS BASED ON TH[ RECOMMENDATION OF THE <br />CITY ATTORNEY AND CITY ENGINEER AND ALSO GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE FOR THE COMBINATION OF LOTS 18, 19 AND <br />Page -12- <br />
