MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Nov. 4, 1987 <br />Bow & The Ci ty Attor•ney pr~esented a pr~oposed or•di nance r~el ati ng to the <br />Ar•r•ow dischar•ge of deadly weapons which, by definition, includes bows and <br />Ordinance arrows. <br />Agenda Council discussed the fact that after r•eviewing the or•dinance discover•ed <br />Item No. 11 that the dischar~ge of bebe guns was pr•ohibited in the City. <br /> The City Attor•ney noted that the dischar•ge of bebe guns is usually <br /> permissible in other cities. <br /> Scalze felt that the City's or•dinance should be consistent with those <br /> of surr•ounding cities to aid the Sher•iff's Depar~tment in enfor•cement. <br /> The City Attor~ney pointed out that the or~dinance befor~e the Council <br /> pr~ohibits the dischar•ge of bows and ar•r•ows and also pr•ohibits sand <br /> clubs. <br /> Mr•s. Scalze intr•oduced the following or•dinance and moved its adoption: <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 290 - AMENDING SECTION 1203.010 <br /> RELATI~IG TO THF DISCHARGE OF DEADLY WEAPONS <br /> WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br /> The for~egoing or~dinance was duly seconded by Mr•. Blesener•. <br /> Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener•, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br /> Nays (0). <br /> Or•dinance declared adopted. <br />Scalze suggested that a notice be placed in the City's next sewer~ billing <br />informing r•esidents that the dischar•ge of bebe guns is pr~ohibited in <br />the City. <br />Wake The City Attor•ney submitted to the Council a pr•oposed wake or~dinance. <br />Or~dinance The Attor• ney repor~ted that the DNR has r•equested that they r•eview <br /> this or•di nance befor~e it is acted upon by the Council. Once they have <br />Agenda r•eviewed the or•dinance, they will submit their~ comments to the City. <br />Atldition <br />Blesener• <br />suggested that the publication pr•ocedur•e as outlined in the <br /> or•dinance would not notify r•esidents in a timely manner•. <br /> The City Attor~ney r•epor•ted that it was his intention that publication <br /> that the no wake r•equir•ement was in effect would be done in the <br /> St. Paul newspaper• as well as notice being posted at the City Center~. <br /> The City Cler~k pointed out that the Council also suggested that <br /> notice be posted at the boat landing at Spoon Lake. <br /> Blesener• pointed out that this pr~ovision is included. <br />Page -15- <br />
