The City Cler•k asked how the r•esidents on Ger•vais will know when the wake or~dinance goes into effect. Blesener• suggested that the City could put together• a notice which could quickly be deliver~ ed to the r~esidents. The Council also discussed the fact that par~t of Ger•vais is in Maplewood, and suggested that the City Cler•k contact the City of Maplewood and ask them to r•eview the pr•oposed or•dinance and deter•mine if they would be inter•ested in adopting a similar~ or•dinance. New Windows Blesener• r•epor~ted that the Public t~lor~ks Depar•tment is r•ecommending that for• City the windows in the City Gar•age be r•eplaced as they leak, ar•e cloudy and Gar~a e ar•e not ai r•-ti ght. Publ i c Wor~k s has obtai ned two bi ds for• the wi ndow 5 r•eplacement. One is fr~om Advent Constr•uction in the amount of 9~2,99 Agenda and the other~ from J W Builder•s in the amount of $3,200. Item No. 13 Mr•. Blesener• intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION t~10. H7-11-540 - APPROVING THE QID OF ADVENT CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,995.00 FOR REPLACEMENT OF FOUR WINDOWS IN THE CITY GARAGE The for~egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr•s. Scalze. Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 590. Li quor, Bl esener• asked for• a cl ar~i fi cati on r~egar•di ng State 1 aw and str~ong beer• License licenses discussed at the pr•evious Council meeting. Agenda The City Attorney explained that the City has the r•ight to enact an Addition ordinance allowinp the holders of 3.2 beer and wine licenses to sell strong beer, however, the State does not allow the City to issue another license for~ the str•ong beer~. Fahey pointed out, however•, that if the holder• of a 3.2 beer~ and wine license elects to sell str•ong beer~, they must pur•chase dr•am shop i nsur•ance. The City Cler~k r•epor~ted that the license holder• must submit a copy of this insur•ance cover~age to the City which the City then for•war•ds to the State. Page -16-
