Traxler also explained that if a person
cannot complete the sur•vey at a given time, the sur~veyer• will set
up an appointment to call back to complete the sur•vey, and most
people are very willing to do this.
Tr~axler• r•epor•ted that sur•veyer~s will call between 5:30 P,M. and 9:30 P.M.
Monday thr•ough Thur•sdays and will do some callbacks on the weekends.
Tr•axl er• stated that sur•veys wi 11 not be taken dur•i ng the mor•ni ng or•
after•noons on weekdays in or•der• to keep the r•espondents an equal
number~ of inen and women.
Council began a question by question r~eview of the sur•vey itself.
Fahey questioned the necessity for~ question #2.
Mor•r~i s r•epl i ed that ther•e wer~e ver•y di ffer~ent atti tudes among shor•t-
ter•m r•esidents ver~sus long-ter•m r•esidents.
Fahey questioned the wor•ding of question #7 noting that he was only
inter•ested in opinions on the City's facilities and not the County
facilities.
Fahey suggested that after• the lead-in statement on the top of page 2
a qiaestion similar• to #7 be included asking for a r•ating of Spooner•
Par•k and Ger~vais Mill Par~k as well as the City's tr•ail system.
Tr~axler• pointed out that most people ar•e not awar~e of which facility
belongs to who.
Fahey suggested that question 12 r•efer• to Spooner~ Par•k and Ger~vais
P1i11 Park as well. However, Council felt that Gervais Mill Park was
too r•ecently developed and the major~ity of r~esidents may not be awar~e
of the par•k.
LaValle suggested that the City should find out if the facilities
at Capital View are being used.
Fahey suggested that separ~ate questions be included asking about use
of City facilities, and use of School District facilities.
The City Clerk pointed out question 32 and asked if it should r•efer~
to specific ballfields.
Fahey felt this question should be left gener•ic.
Scalze asked if question 13 should r~efer~ to Spooner• Par~k.
Bill Sander•s, Par•k Commission member~, suggested that he would like to
Page -4-
