MINUTES City Council Feb. 10, 1988 Par•k Sur~vey (Cont.) LaValle asked the length of the sur•vey. Tr•axler• felt the average amount of time that would be spent on the phone for• this sur•vey would be 18 minutes, but pointed out that length of time will depend on how opiniated the r•espondent is. Some sur•veys could take as long as 45 minutes. Scalze suggested that the sur~vey not addr~ess pr~oper~ties over~ which the City has no contr•ol and fur•ther• suggested that questions 20 thr•ough 49 be deleted fr•om the sur•vey. Collova agreed. Mor~el an asked i f ther•e was no i nter~est i n the par~t of the Ci ty to pur~chase the Capital View or~ Kellogg pr•oper•ties. Scalze pointed out that Capital View has not been programmed for activities for~ a year•. P1or~elan pointed out the use of the outdoor• facilities at Capital View such as the tennis cour~ts and ballfields. lJehr•le pointed out that question 88 dealt with possible aco,uisition of Capital View. Rlesener• suggested that question 20 be r•etained, but that 21 thr•ough 24 be deleted. alesener• then suggested that after~ question 2II the use of gym and pool facilities at Capital View be sur•veyed. Wehrle suggested that gymrasium facilities be included in question 29. Wehr•le suggested that question 88 be placed in this area of the sur~vey. Traxler replied that the order of the survey is mixed in order to keep the sur•vey i nter•esti ng to the r•espondents. Scalze suggested that questions 30 thr•ough 44 be de1eted. Council agr•eed. ScaYze asked the feelings for• deleting questions 45 thr•ough 49. Collova felt a question should be included regarding Gervais Beach. Blesener agreed that the survey should ask if City residents use Gervais Beach. Traxler• suggestion that question 47 be r~etained as it applies to Ger•vais Beach, but that the sur•veyor• will also ask if the Beach is not used at all by the r~espondent. Page -2-
