An addition of 20 units has
Item Mo. 11 been discussed and may be pr•esented to the Council next year~. The
Ar~chdiocese would be seeking City backed Section 202 financing for~ the
addition.
Fahey suggested that the City should discuss with the Ar•chdiocese
obtaining an option agr~eement on the cur•r•ent senior~ facility as well
as any new addition or~ facility to ensur~e that once the financing is
paid, the buildings ~vould r~emain as subsidized senior• housing.
Fahey suggested that the City send the Ar•chdiocese a letter• of inter•est
encour~aging them in their• plans for• an addition to the senior~ apar•tment
facility and also mentioning the City's thoughts with r•egar~d to an
option agr•eement.
Blesener~ suggested that if an addition is pr~esented for~ appr•oval, the
City should look at the par~king situation at both the cur•r~ent facility
as well as the addition. Blesener~ pointed out that cur~r•ently par•king
is inadequate.
Scalze also pointed out that the Ar•chdiocese may not be awar•e that
ther•e is additional land adjacent to their• pr~esent site that could be
acqui r•ed for~ another• faci 1 i ty or~ an addi ti on i f need be.
Lake View The City Planner• r•epor~ted that Gor•dy Howe, developer• of the Lake View
Addition Addition, contacted him with the suggestion that the dr~iveway for~ Lot
1, Block 1 of that addition have access off the r~oad easement to the
Agenda nor~th of that l ot r•ather~ than di r•ectly on Edger•ton. The Pl anner• asked
Item No. 11 the Council's feelings on this suggestion. The Planner• r•epor~ted that
the only pr~oblem he sees is that the r•oad easement would not be a
fully impr•oved City str•eet and asked if the City would accept a dr~iveway
to a gr~avel r~oad that may be impr•oved for~ a futur~e addition. The Planner~
r~epor•ted that the house on Lot l, Block 1 would face Edger•ton.
Blesener• asked how wide the r~oad easement was.
Page -10-
