Scalze intr~oduced the following r~esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RFSOLUTION N0. 88-4-167 - AUTNORIZIPlG TNE <br />MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN AN OPTI0~1 <br />AGREEMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TNE QUALITY <br />BLACKTOP PROPERTY <br />The for•egoing r•eoslution was duly seconded by Mr~. Blesener•. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener~, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar~ed adopted. <br />This r~esolution appear~s in Resolution Book Plo. 19, Page 171. <br />The Cit,y Attor~ney r~epor•ted that an option agr•eement has been submitted <br />for• the pur~chase of up to 12 acres of the AIC Cor•por•ation pr~oper~ty. <br />However•, the City Attor•ney indicated that he has not been in contact <br />with the attor~ney for~ AIC Cor~por~ation to discuss the option agr~eement. <br />Blesener• stated that he did not think the City needed the full 12 acr~es. <br />Fahey commented that he felt the City could financial1y suppor~t the <br />pur•chase of the 12 acr~es. <br />Scalze indicated that the Park Commission has r~ecommended pur•chase of <br />up to 33 acr~es in the Center•ville Road ar~ea. However•, par~k development <br />plans have not been pr•epar•ed. Scalze commented that the ar•ea would not <br />need to be fully developed and open ar~ea would be provided within the <br />park. <br />Scalze pointed out that AIC Cor•por•ation is purchasing pr•oper~ty fr•om <br />Dave Fr•attalone, and thought that the sale to the City and pur•chase <br />fr~om P1r~. Fr~attalone needed to work simultaneously. <br />Fahey agr•eed that the City needs to make a decision on how much <br />pr•operty it will buy. Fahey asked the length of the option agr•eements. <br />The City Attor~ney r~epor~ted that the City is in the purchase phase with <br />Dave Fr•attalone and the Fasciana family. The option for• the Quality <br />Asphal t pr•oper•ty i s bei ng exer•ci sed wi th the r•etur~n of the opti on <br />agr•eement. The City Attor•ney r•epor•ted that the option agr•eement <br />submitted to AIC Cor•por~ation is a 90-day option. The A.ttor•ney also <br />pointed out that AIC's plans for• pur~chase of pr•oper•ty fr•om Dave <br />Fr•attalone have nothing to do with the City's purchase. <br />Blesener~ felt a decision on how much pr•operty to buy needed to be made. <br />Page -23- <br />
