MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 25, 1988 <br />Economic Scalze pointed out the suggestion of a developer• at the Committee meeting <br />Development that the elevation of the vacant pr•oper~ty along Countr•y Dr•ive be lower~ed. <br />Committee The developer~ pointed out the r~evenue fr•om the sale of the dir~t and also <br />(Cont.) felt that lower•ing the elevation of this pr~oper•ty would make it mor~e <br /> visible fr•om the freew ay and more attractive to develop er•s. <br />Ramsey <br />County <br />Charter <br />Commission <br />Agenda <br />Item Mo. 15 <br />Sheriff's <br />Tr~aining <br />Session <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />Sealcoating <br />Bids <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 16a <br />The Council discussed this suggestion and suggested that the City Engineer <br />hold off on pr~epar•ation of specs for~ the Countr~y Dr~ive impr~ovement and <br />r•eview the suggestion for• lower•ing the elevation of the ar~ea and give the <br />Council his thoughts on the pr•oposal as soon as possible. <br />Scalze reviewed the cor~r~espondence in Council agendas r•egar•ding the Ramsey <br />County Charter Commission. <br />It was noted that the Minnesota League of Cities has made the cities' <br />position known on the issue of the Char•ter~ Commission and no further• <br />action is necessar~y fr•om the Council. <br />Scalze outlined a r•ecent Sher•iff's tr•aining session which she and Mr•. <br />Blesener• attended which was a demonstr~ation of the Sher•iff's emer~gency <br />entr•y team. <br />The City received the following bids for• sealcoating: <br />Allied Blacktop <br />Astech Corporation <br />Bituminous Roadways <br />T. A. Schifsky & Son <br />4(1.5Q per• squar~e yar~d <br />48.2¢ per• squar•e yar•d <br />42.8¢ per• squar~e yar•d <br />64.OQ per• squar•e yar~d. <br />Blesener• r~eported that Public Wor~ks is r•ecommending that the low bid be <br />awar•ded and is r•equesting author•ization to do 5,000 squar~e yar•ds of <br />additional sealcoating due to the low bid which was r~eceived. <br />Mr~. Blesener~ intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIOPI N0. 88-5-214 - AWARDING THE SEALCOATING <br />BID SUBMITTED BY ALLIED BLACKTOP AT A BID PRICE <br />OF 40.5 CENTS PER SQUARE YARD AND INCREASING THE <br />AREA TO BE SEALCOATED BY APPROXIMATELY 5,000 <br />SQUARE YARDS DUE TO THE LOW BID TNAT WAS RECEIVED <br />The for~egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr•.
