Blesener•. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar~ed adopted. <br />This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 218. <br />Scalze r~epor•ted that the Par•k Commission intends to hold a par~k naming <br />contest for~ the Center•ville Road Ar•ea par~k. The contest will be <br />adver•tised at Canadian Days and a name will be chosen in September•. <br />A pr•ize will be awar•ded to the winner• of the contest. <br />Lawcon Scal ze r•epor•ted that ther~e ar~e two types of LAWCON gr•ants avai 1 abl e. One <br />Gr~ants is for~ athletic development and the other• is for• the tr•aditional type of <br />par•k devel opment. The Par•k Commi ssi on woul d 1 i ke to pur•sue a gr~ant for~ <br />Agenda athletic development for• the Center•ville Road Ar~ea pr~oper~ty and one for~ <br />Addition tr•aditional development for~ Ger•vais Mills Par•k. Deadline for~ application <br />submission is July 8. <br />Mr•s. Scalze intr~oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-5-217 - AUTHORIZING BILL <br />SANDERS TO PREPARE LAWCON GRANT APPLICATIONS <br />FOR BOTH ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE CENTERVILLE <br />ROAD PARK AREA AND FOR TRADITIONAL DEVELOPMENT <br />IN THE GERVAIS MILLS PARK <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr•. Dlesener•. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener•, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar~ed adopted. <br />This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 219. <br />Histor•ical Fahey suggested that since the purchase of Spooner~ Par•k is pr~oceeding the <br />Society Histor•ical Society put together~ a biographical sketch of Car•1 Spooner~ <br />for• futur~e gener•ations as well as a sketch on the per•son for~ which <br />Agenda Gilber•tson fields was named. <br />Addition <br />Scalze r•epor•ted that she would discuss this suggestion with Johanna <br />Gallagher. <br />Page -17- <br />
