MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 25, 1988 <br />Announce- Collova r~epor•ted that ther•e will be a special meeting of the Economic <br />ments Development Committee on Tuesday, May 31st, at 7:00 A.M. to discuss <br />(Cont.) industr•ial and commercial development within the City. <br />Fleisch- Fahey opened the public hearing to consider• an application submitted <br />hacker• by Mar•k Fl ei schhacker• for~ a fr•ont yar•d setback var•i ance for• constr~ucti on <br />Loading of a loading dock on his pr•oper•ty located at 3202 Rice Str~eet. <br />Dock <br />Var•iance The Council reviewed the r•ecommendations of both the City Planner~ <br />and Planning Commission on this r•equest. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 5 Scalze noted that the pr~oper~ty needs to be cleaned up and suggested <br />that a bond be r•equir~ed at the time a building per~mit is pulled that <br />will ensur~e the clean-up is done. <br />Ther~e was no one fr•om the gener•al public pr~esent wishing to comment <br />on this pr•oposal. <br />Fahey asked Mr~. Fleischhacker• his intentions for~ compliance with the <br />Fir•e Codes and other pr•oblems with the site identified by the Building <br />Inspector. <br />Fleischhacker reported that he will install a second exit door in the <br />building as r~ecommended by the Building Inspector•. Fleischhacker• r~epor•ted <br />that ther~e is cur~r•ently access for~ emer•gency vehicles to thr~ee sides of <br />the building. <br />Scalze noted fr~om aer~ial photos taken in both 1981 and 1983 that it appears <br />the pr~oper•ty i s i ncr•easi ng i n si ze out i nto the wetl and. Scal ze r•epor•ted <br />that ther~e is cur~r•ently a huge pile of dir•t on the pr•oper•ty. <br />Fleischhacker~ denied filling the wetland and r•eported that the dir•t on <br />the pr•operty is excess dir•t fr•om the br•idge pr•oject. <br />Scalze noted that ther~e is a mobilehome and some semi-tr•uck tr~ailer•s <br />being stor~ed on the pr•oper~ty which is in violation of Code. Scalze <br />asked Fleischhacker•'s intentions for• cleaning up the pr~oper•ty. <br />Fahey asked about emer~gency vehicle access to the south side of the <br />building. <br />Fleischhacker• r~eplied that the south side of the building is accessible <br />from the east side. <br />The Ci ty P1 anner• r~epor•ted that upon fur•ther~ revi ew the Bui 1 di ng Inspector• <br />is confident that ther•e is access to the south side of the building ar~ound <br />fr~om the east side. <br />Scalze asked if the State condemned some of Fleischhacker's pr~oper~ty in <br />conjunction with their• br•idge pr•oject. <br />Page -2- <br />
