MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 22, 1988 <br />Vacation Blesener~ r•epor~ted that a new Public Wor•ks hiree had a question r•egar~ding <br />Time For~ vacation time which Blesener• repor~ted he clar~ified with the employee. <br />New Hir•ee Blesener~ pointed out that the Per•sonnel Or•dinance is ver•y clear• on this <br />issue. <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />City Hall Blesener~ r~eported that he has discussed the City Center~ expansion pr•oposal <br />Expansion with the Senior Citizen Coor•dinator~, who is happy with the pr•oposal. <br /> 6lesener~ also r•epor•ted that it may be possible to r•educe the amount of <br />Agenda space for the Council Chamber•s while still providing the same seating <br />Addition capacity. <br /> Blesener• r~equested Council author•ization to move on to the next step and <br /> have SEH r•edr~aw the floor plan based on comments r~eceived. This expendi- <br /> tur•e is still within the amount appr•oved for• the expansion study. <br /> Council was agreeable to the r•edrawing of the plan as suggested. <br />Snowmobile Collova reported that the City has r•eceived a request for~ use of the City <br />Club Center• by the Snowmobile Club. Collova suggested that the City obtain a <br /> member~ship r•oster• befor~e acting on the r~equest to ensur•e that Little <br />Agenda Canada r~esidents ar•e member•s of this club. <br />Item No. 21 <br /> Council agreed. <br />Hedge & Collova reported that there is a traffic visibility problem at the <br />Visibility inter~section of LaBore Road and Ely Road due to a lar•ge hedge on the <br />Tom Stadler• proper•ty. This evening a child was bumped by a car~ while <br />Agenda r•iding a bike in this ar•ea. <br />Addition <br />Council instr•ucted the Public Wor~ks Superintendent to contact the <br />pr~oper~ty owner r•equesti ng r~emoval of the hedge fr•om the road r•i ght-of- <br />way. If the wor•k is not done by the pr~oper~ty owner, the City Attor•ney <br />suggested that the City give the pr•operty owner~ notice and do the wor~k <br />itself. <br />Edger•ton & The Council r•eviewed a letter• it r~eceived fr•om a concer~ned citizen r~egarding <br />LaBor•e Rd. the tr•affic speeds on Edger•ton as well as the danger•ous situation at the <br />Inter~section inter~section of LaBor•e Road and Edger~ton for• childr•en tr•ying to cr•oss the <br />inter~section to get to Spooner~ Park and Little Canada Elementar~y School. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 22a Council discussed the matter• and felt that in view of the additional <br />traffic on Edgerton due to the Little Canada Road br~idge construction, <br />the fact that Edger•ton's speed limit south of Highway 36 is 30 miles <br />per hour~ and the fact that many childr•en must cr~oss this inter•section, <br />the County should be r•equested to lower~ the speed limit on Edgerton <br />Page -24- <br />
