MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 22, 1988 <br />Edger~ton E <br />LaBor~e Rd. <br />(Cont. <br />to 30 P4PH and stop signs should be r•equested at the inter~section. <br />Council felt that if the County r~efuses this r•equest, which it has done <br />in the past, the r•equest should then be made to either the State <br />Commissioner• of Highways or• Representative Don Valento. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-6-259 - REQUESTING THE <br />COUNTY TO LOWER THE SPEED LIMIT ON EDGERTON <br />TO 30 MILES PER HOUR IN VIEW OF THE RESIDENTIAL <br />GROWTH ON THE EAST SIDE OF EDGERTON AND THE <br />ADDITION TO THE LITTLE CANADA SCHOOL ON THE <br />WEST SIDE OF EDGERTON AND THE FACT THAT THERE <br />IS A SPEED LIMIT OF 30 MILES PER H~UR ON <br />EDGERTON SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 36, AND REQUESTING <br />TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT STOP SIGNS AT TNE <br />INTERSECTION OF EDGERTON APJD LaBORE ROAD DUE <br />TO THE INCREASED TRAFFIC VOLUME ON EDGERTON <br />BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION ON THE LITTLE CANADA <br />ROAD BRIDGE <br />The for•egoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr~. Blesener•. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Blesener, Collova, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar•ed adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 264. <br />Softball Scalze r~epor~ted on discussion between the Par~k Commission and Recr~eation <br />Field Association regarding size of softball fields in the Center•ville Par•k <br />Size ar•ea. Scalze suggested that the Council r~eview the minutes of the Par•k <br />Commission meeting for~ that discussion. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 22b Scalze r•epor•ted that the issue comes down to whether or• not the City <br />should get involved in tour•nament softball. The Recr~eation Association <br />is r•ecommending 300 foot softball fields and the Par•k Commission is <br />split on 280 foot fields ver•sus 300 foot fields. <br />Council discussed the matter• and it was the concensus of the Council <br />that it did not want to be involved in tour~nament softball. <br />Fahey stated that he was in favor~ of 280 foot fields if dual use <br />could be made of these fields with soccer~ fields. If an additional <br />20 feet was needed to provide dual use, than 300 foot fields wer~e <br />acceptable to him. Other•wise, Fahey stated that he was in favor~ of <br />280 foot fields. <br />Mr•.
