MINUTES <br />City Council <br />September• 28, 1988 <br />Storm Fahey r~eviewed the correspondence r•eceived by the City outlining State <br />Shelter Law which requires the owners of mobilehome par•ks to designate a storm <br />For Mobile shelter• for their r•esidents. The mqbilehome parks have to present a <br />Home Parks copy of their storm shelter plans to the City for its review and approval. <br />Agenda Fahey suggested that this matter be referred to the City's Fir•e Chief, <br />Item No. 13 Civil Defense Director as well as Public Works Superintendent for their <br />comment and recommendation. Fahey pointed out that the Law requir•es <br />submission of a plan to the City by March 1, 1989. There is criteria <br />in the Law which must be reviewed by the City in determining if the <br />various plans are acceptable. <br />Blesener suggested that the corr•espondence received by the City as well <br />as a full copy of the Law be submitted to the owners of the City's var•ious <br />mobilehome parks. <br />Country Fahey reported that the City's Economic Development Committee has <br />Dr•ive recommended that an infor~mational meeting be held with the property <br />Study & owners in the Countr~y Drive area to update them on the study the Cit.y <br />Public is conducting on Country Drive. <br />Hearing <br />Fahey also repor•ted that based on input received at that infor~mational <br />Agenda meeting, the Committee would like author•ization to hire an independent <br />Item No. 14a mar~keting analysis fir•m to do a formal study of the area. <br />Mr•. Fahey intr•oduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-9-413 - CALLING AN IPdFORMATIONAL <br />MEETING ON COUNTRY DRIVE SECTOR N0. 2 REDEVELOPP9ENT <br />FOR OCTOBER 12, 1988 AND AUTHORI7_ING THF ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE TO HIRE A MARKET ANALYSIS <br />FIRM TO STUDY THE COUNTRY DRIVE AREA BASED ON THE <br />INPUT RECEIVED AT THE OCTOBER 12TH MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr~. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Collova, Sca1ze. <br />~Jays (01. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 428. <br />Truck Blesener reported that the City received onebid fr~om Polar• Chevrolet <br />Bids in response to its advertisement for bids for~ a pickup truck. Blesener <br />reported that the pr•oblem is that the City's bid specifications called <br />Agenda for presentation of a bond by the bidder. <br />Item No. 16a <br />6lesener recommended that the bid be r•ejected. <br />Page -17- <br />
