MINUTES City Council October 12, 1988 1988 Budget The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr~. Fahey. (Cont.) Ayes (3) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle. Nays (2) Collova, Fahey. Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 441. Mrs. Scalze intr~oduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-427 - APPROVING 4% SALARY INCREASES FOR ALL CITY EMPLOYEES FOR THE YEAR 1989 The for•egoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr~. Blesener. Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, C~~llova, LaValle. Nays (1) Fahey. Resolution declar•ed adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 442. Mr•. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-428 - APPROVING THE 1989 GENERAL FUND BUDGET, BOND LEVY, 1989 EXPENDITURE BUDGET AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET AS PRESENTED BY THE CITY CLERK AND WITH THE CHANGES AS DISCUSSED AT THE COUNCIL'S BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING, WITH THE BUDGET TO REFLECT THE WAGES WHICH HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR CITY EMPLOYEES FOR 1989 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, LaValle, Collova. Nays (0). Resolution declar•ed adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, page 443. Blesener felt that if the City Clerk's job performance improved dur•ing 1989 and the Building Inspector picked up the additional responsibility given to him this evening, he would be favor~ of additional compensation for• 1990. Fahey asked if Blesener~ felt the Public Works Superintendent deserved additional compensation during 1989 based on his job performance. Blesener• felt that additional compensation was war~ranted for~ the Public Wor~ks Superintendent, however, had a har•d time lobbying for it since Public Works was his liaison area. Blesener stated that he did not feel one employee should be singled out, but in all honesty the additional compensation was war•r~anted for this employee. page -14-
