MINUTES
City Council
October~ 12, 1988
1989 Budget Mr. Blesener introduced t'ne following resolution and moved its adoption:
(Cont.)
RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-429 - RECONSIDERING TNE
1989 SALARY INCREASE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
SUPERINTENDEPJT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D9rs. Blesener felt a 6% increase was
warranted for• this employee.
Scalze asked if these were not part of the Superintendent's job.
Blesener• agreed that these duties wer•e a part of the job, however,
pointed out that the Public Wor~ks Superintendent gets the ball r•olling
in various areas.
Fahey agreed with Blesener's comments.
Scalze also agreed with Blesener's comments on the perfor~mance of the
Public Wor•ks Superintendent and suggested that the City should look into
expanding his job duties, so that the extra wages are merited.
The Council discussed the idea of extr•a job duties and it was felt that
this suggestion should be studied further.
LaValle agreed that the Public Works Superintendent was doing an
excellent job, but felt other City employees were doing excellent
jobs in less than ideal working environments.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-430 - APPROVING AN
INCREASE OF 6% FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
SUPERINTENDENT FOR THE YEAR 1989
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey.
Ayes (3) Dlesener, Fahey, Collova.
Nays (2) LaValle, Scalze.
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, page 445.
Page -15-
