MINUTES
City Council
October 12, 1988
On-Call Mr~. Rlesener• pr~esented to the Council the Public Works Superintendent's
Systems r•ecommendation for an On-Call System. Under• this system one Public tdorks
employee would be on-call during a given week. For being on call, that
Flgenda employee would receive 4 hours of compensation. The policy also established
Item No. 12a a minimum amount of time the employee would be paid for should he be called
out during the evening hours.
Fahey stated that he would like a repor•t showing how many times in the
past Public Works employees wer~e called out during the evening hours.
Fahey also asked if it is difficult for the Superintendent to locate
Public Works employees during the evening for these calls. Fahey
requested information on how other cities handle these evening calls
and if other cities have on-call systems in place.
Blesener reported that he will provide the Council ~aith this additional
information, and the matter was tabled at this time.
Austr•alian Blesener• reported that Public Works has informed him that ther•e is a
Drainage drainage problem on Australian Avenue and would like the City Engineer
Problem to look at the problem and prepare some cost estimates for cor~recting it.
Agenda The City Engineer was so instructed.
Flddition
No Parking Blesener r•eported that the pr•operty owner on the south corner of Ar•cade
Signs On Str•eet and County Road B-2 would like the no parking signs removed on
County Rd. County Road B-2 fr•om Arcade Street to Diana Lane. This property owner•
g_Z has a shor•t driveway, and has no guest parking.
Agenda Blesener repor•ted that the no parking signs were installed because of
Addition problems with cars with boat tr•ailers parking in this area. The property
owner• is aware of the problem, but would prefer• the no par•king signs be
r•emoved.
Scalze asked if it would be hazardous to allow par•king on County Road t3-2.
Blesener did not believe so since parking would only be allowed on one
side of the street.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-437 - REQUESTING THE
COUNTY TO REMOVE THE NO PARKING SIGNS ON
THE SOUTN SIDE OF COUNTY ROAD B-2 FROM
ARCADE STREET TO DIANNA LANE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P1rs.
