MINUTES
City Council
October 12, 1988
Countr~y Dr. Lachenmeyer reported that Burke Lane residents are aware that the pr•operty
Relocation will eventually develop, and when it does develop, want to make sur•e that
(Cont.) it develops in the right way. Lachenmeyer asked the City to keep in mind
the homeowners in the area who need to maintain property values for r•esale.
Lachenmeyer asked that when a development plan is presented for the area,
that adequate landscaping be provided and that existing trees be retained.
Lachenmeyer• also stated that he preferr•ed to see Burke Lane extended along
the Water Works property.
Elaine Zoch, 2945 Condit, stated that she had concerns with the proposal.
Zoch pointed out that the proper•ty owners in the area previously lost in
their efforts to keep the area residential. Zoch reported that she has
three lots along Yorkton Ridge and was concerned that lots on Yor•kton Ridge
have not been selling and the effect of development of the Countr•y Drive
area on her residential lots.
Zoch reported that Tony Fasciana has indicated to her• that he is opposed
to the lowering of Country Drive.
Zoch asked who would pay assessmants for the upgr•ading of Countr~y Drive.
The City Engineer r•eported that the City has upgraded sever•al streets and
the cost of the improvements were divided between the City and property
owner~s.
Zoch pointed out that Condit would be upgraded to benefit commer~cial
development to the east and did not feel her property should be assessed.
Blesener replied that Condit is planned for~ upgrading because the street
does not meet City standards and not to benefit the property to the east.
Scalze pointed out that the commercial property abutting Condit would have
access to it, however•, the proper•ty with Country Drive frontage would not
be allowed access to Condit.
Zoch reported that she was told she could not develop her B-3 property
since Condit could not handle commercial traffic.
The City Planner stated that any commercial development on Condit would
have access to it, and suggested that Condit should be developed to
commercial standards.
Zoch reported that she has mixed feelings about the proposal since she
owns both B-3 and residential property a1ong Condit. Zoch felt that
consideration needed to be given to the property owners on both Bur•ke
Lane and Yorkton Ridge.
Zoch stated that she was opposed to the cutting down of Countr•y Drive,
since she felt it would lower the values of the residential homes in
the area.
Nadeau pointed out that his pr•operty is surr~ounded by 900 feet of roads,
Page -7-
