MINUTES
City Council
October 26, 1988
Multiple Council needed to look at the long-term needs of the City.
Rezonings
(Cont.) Fahey agreed and pointed out that the Buck Blacktop property has good
soil conditions. Fahey agr•eed that he would be flexible if a catastr•ophe
happened and there was the need to r•ebuild or r•eplace an existing str•ucture.
Fahey stated, however, that if Buck Blacktop wanted to double or tr•iple
the size of their existing str•ucture, than the pr~ovisions of the I-P
District should be enforced.
Buck Blacktop was concer•ned that the position of the Council could change
on this issue.
Fahey noted that the minutes will r~eflect the Council's views. Fahey
stated that if a disaster occur~red, he would be agreeable to allowing
the existing building to be r•ebuilt.
Blesener also pointed out that the building coialdbe expanded by 25% of
existing floor area without having to br•ing the pr~oper•ty into conformity
as long as the existing non-conformity was not being increased.
For the r•ecord, Duck Blacktop stated that they were opposed to the r~ezoning
to I-P Distr~ict.
Blesener• felt that the property would become mor~e valuable under the
I-P zoning.
There were no further comments on this area.
Mr~. Blesener~ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-455 - APPROVING THE
REZONING OF PROPERTY TO I-P DISTRICT IN
THE AREA OF THE YORKTON DEVELOPMENTS
INCLUDING TNE BUCK BLACKTOP PROPERTY AS WELL
AS THE WILLIAM AND ROSE GERVAIS PROPERTIES,
WITH THE ZONING TO EXTEND TO THE SOUTH
PROPERTY LINE OF THE DONOVAN CONSTRUCTION
PROPERTY.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr•s. Scalze.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declar~ed adopted.
This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 20, page 470.
It was pointed out that the City Planner~ has r•ecommended that the zoning
of the Woodlyn Avenue ar•ea remain I-1. The Planning Commission agr•eed
with this recommendation. Council was also agreeable, ther•efor•e, no
action is requir~ed in this ar•ea.
Page -II-
