MINUTFS City Council april 26, 1989 Scalze pointed out the City's recent purchase of 34 acres of park land, and the feeling of some people that the pr~operty should not have been taken out of development. Scalze pointed out that there are people on both sides of the issue. Fahey pointed out that the pr•oper•ty owner has been payinq taxes on this pr~oper•ty, and has a right to develop it. Ms. War•ner•, Syl van Str•eet resi dent, r~eported that her• back yar•d woul d abutt this residential development, and requested that as many tr~ees as possible be saved. Fahey felt that many trees would he retained, pointinq out that only the str~eet area would likely be bulldozed. 6oosalis aqr~eed that as many tr•ees as possible will be r•etained.
