P4inutes <br />City Council <br />June 28, 1989 <br />Facilities <br />Committee <br />(cont.) P4rs. Scalze was concerned with the £inancing of the land and <br />the space problem at City xall, <br />Mr. Fahey stated that they would have a financial plan before <br />proceeding with the plan. He does not believe we are ready to <br />construct a new City Hall. He feels that we could get by with <br />adding some offices to the present City Hall and suggested <br />moving the Recreation Department to the E'ire Hall and the <br />Public Works Department to the City garage. He considers the <br />Council Chambers to be adequate. <br />t~7rs. 5calze stated that we do need a conference room and more <br />space for the City employees. She and Mr. Blesener agreed that <br />it would be inefficient to move the staff around, <br />Mr. Blesener stated that it was a general consensus that H~e <br />needed a larger community hall when the City Hall addition was <br />planned. <br />The Council discussed the funding of the plan, the size and how <br />elaborate the fire hall should be and the need for a larger <br />City I3a11, <br />Mr. Fahey thanked P9r. E3anson for his report and the services of <br />his Committee. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0, 89-6-_ 2$5 - ACCEPTTNG TfIE REPORT FROTd THE <br />FACILTTIES COMMITTEE AND TFiANKING THEM AND RECOMMENDING A STUDX <br />TO SEE IF IT IS FTNANCTALLY F~ASSI3LE, <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (~) <br />Nays (0> <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Council discussed having a workshop with the Fire <br />Department. P4r. Collova suggested that we have some facts and <br />figures available for the workshop so we have an estimate of <br />how much it would cost to tear the three buildings down. <br />Page 1 ? <br />
