MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
September 6, 1989
Fahey commented that he thought this evening the City
Engineer would have more detail on the drainage from
the Boosalis project into Round Lake. Fahey stated
that he thought the concerns raised at the previous
meeting were going to be addressed this evening.
Pantzer stated that he was told at the last meeting
that the adjacent property owners' concerns about
drainage were going to be addressed this evening.
Pantzer stated that he is concerned about the possible
loss of trees as a result of running a storm sewer ta
Round Lake, and also commented that the townhomes have
a shed on the drainage easement, and he is concerned
about what will happen to this shed.
Fahey replied that the City will attempt to run any
storm sewer that is needed in the existing easement,
and will not purchase new easements because of
Pantzer's concerns for trees or the townhome's shed.
Pantzer asked where the run-off from County Road C ends
up.
The City Engineer described the path this run-off
takes, pointing out that it ends up on Round Lake.
Pierce again stated that it was his feeling that the
storm sewer on County Road C should be enlarged to take
the run-off from the Boosalis project.
Fahey pointed out that the expense of such a project
would be much more than running a storm sewer to Round
Lake. Fahey pointed out that the question is whether
the storm sewer will run over the Pierce property or
the Schrier property, and how the storm sewer will
effect existing trees.
The City Engineer pointed out that plans and specs for
a project are not prepared until after a project is
approved. This is the reason that final plans and
specs are not before the Council this evening.
Fahey pointed out that the concerns raised at the last
meeting have not been addressed and the Council is not
sure where the storm sewer will be installed to get
run-off into Round Lake.
Page 6
