MINUTES CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 12, 1989 Sanders also estimated the cost of backstop fencing at $50,000 and outfield fencing at $30,000. Sanders pointed out that a line item for consulting and engineering is included in the budget already, and, therefore, a duplication. Council revised the Pioneer Park portion of the budget as follows: Concession Building $200 000 Tennis Courts 50,000 Basketball Court 15,000 Bridge 10,000 Landscaping 10,000 Site Work around Concession Bldg. 10,000 Backstops 50,000 Total $345,000 The Council eliminated the budget items for Thunder Bay Park/Westwinds Park, and reduced the Consultants portion of the budget to $5,000 for engineering fees, pointing out that $15,000 has already been budgeted for Consultants in another area of the Budget. The park funding portion of the budget was also revised brinqing the total proposed funding amount to $277,500 and including $125,700 in the Capital Outlay portion of the Budget. Council approved the Parks portion of the budget as revised and the Recreation portion of the budget as submitted. Council approved the following budget categories as proposed: 55+ Club, Council, Municipal Court, Elections, Clerk's Office, Attorney, Engineer, Planning, Insurance, City Hall, and Economic Development. Council increased the budget amount for Police Protection to $365,000. The Fire Marshall, Protective Inspections, Emergency Services/Civil Defense, and Cable TV portions of the budget were approved as proposed. The Auditor reported that he will revise Exhibits A, B, and C incorporating the changes that the Council has made this evening. He will also put together a listing of capital outlay items that could be funded by equipment certificates.
