MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />September 13, <br />GARBAGE AND <br />REFUSE <br />COLLECTION <br />1989 <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-9-436 -APPROVING THE LITTLE CANADA <br />REFUSE 5ERVICE CONTRACT INCORPORATING THE CHANGES AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY IN HIS LETTER DATED <br />AUGUST 31, 1989, AND SUBJECT TO THE HAULERS AGREEMENT <br />TO THOSE CHANGES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DEPUTY <br />CLERK TO SIGN THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Attorney submitted a proposed ordinance <br />relating to garbage and refuse collection. <br />Blesener suggested a change in wording in the contract <br />under Section 809.060 increasing the maximum size <br />containers to 90 gallons. Also, Section 809.070 should <br />be amended to state that the various materials left out <br />at the curb for collection can be left at the curb up <br />to 24 hours before the designated pick-up day. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 320 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 809 <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RELATING TO THE STORAGE AND COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, <br />REFUSE, RUBBISH, YARD WASTE, RECYCLABLES AND RELATED <br />MATERIALS INCORPORATING THE REVISIONS SUGGESTED BY THE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Scalze, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Ordinance declared adopted. <br />The City Attorney indicated that he would put together <br />the Ordinance incorporatinq the Council's revisions and <br />return it to City staff for publication. <br />Page 14 <br />
