MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />September 27, 1989 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Collova, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />DEVELOPER The City Planner recommended that the issue of <br />DEPOSITS developer deposits be tabled until a new City <br />Administrator is hired. <br />ORDINANCE Council tabled action on proposed Ordinance No. 311 <br />N0. 311 regarding non-conforming signs indefinitely. <br />FALSE ALARM The City Attorney presented for approval a proposed <br />ORDINANCE ordinance increasinq the fines for false alarms. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-9-478 - ORDINANCE NO. 322 - AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 816.040 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA RELATIVE TO USER FEES <br />FOR FALSE ALARMS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. <br />Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey requested that a copy of this new ordinance be <br />sent to the Fire Chief, and that the Building Inspector <br />send notice to major violators of the increased fines <br />that will go into effect upon publication of the <br />ordinance. <br />LaValle suggested that the ordinance only apply to <br />false alarms for the Fire Department and not the <br />Sheriff's Department. <br />Representatives of MGM supported the new ordinance and <br />felt it should apply to false alarms for both the <br />Sheriff's Department and the Fire Department. MGM <br />pointed out that false alarms tie up these services and <br />PAGE 32 <br />
