MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />October 11, 1989 <br />Fahey reported that when the City improved Sylvan <br />Street, land was taken from Mr. Day for the Sylvan <br />Street cul-de-sac. At that time the Council indicated <br />that should a subdivision be requested in the future, <br />the Council would grant a variance for lot area. A <br />similar variance was granted for the property on the <br />other side of the cul-de-sac. <br />Fahey reported that both the Planning Commission and <br />the City Planner have recommended approval of the <br />subdivision and variance request. <br />Blesener asked if the lots are of sufficient size that <br />setback requirements will be met and additional <br />variances will not be necessary. <br />Mr. Day replied that he does not anticipate setback <br />variances being necessary. <br />There was no one from the qeneral public present <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-10-503 - CLOSING TAE PUBLIC HEARING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. <br />scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, Blesener, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-10-504 - APROVING THE DOUGLAS DAY <br />APPLICATION FOR SUBDIVISION OF LOTS 36 THROUGH 41, <br />BLOCK 10, NORTH HEIGHTS INTO TWO SINGLE-FAMILY LOTS AND <br />APPROVING THE VARIANCE FOR LOT AREA SINCE THE RESULTING <br />LOTS WILL BE LESS THAN 10,000 SQUARE FEET IN SIZE, THE <br />VARIANCE REQUEST BEING GRANTED DUE TO PREVIOUS COUNCIL <br />ACTION IN TAKING PROPERTY FROM MR. DAY FOR THE SYLVAN <br />STREET CUL-DE-SAC <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0).
