MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
October 11, 1989
Blesener asked about additional parking on the site.
Welsh pointed out that there is area for 50 additional
parking spaces to the west of the existing parking lot,
however, Slumberland would like to defer this parking
until it is demonstrated that it is needed.
The City Planner stated that this was acceptable to
him.
Milan Moravetz, 476 Al1en Avenue, asked if the
landscaping will be maintained.
The Planner replied that this is part of the landscape
bond that is required. The bond will be held by the
City until the landscaping is installed, and one year
after that to make sure that the landscaping is
established and growing.
Scalze asked about a situation where the landscaping
would die after a couple of years.
The City Planner pointed out that screening is required
as part of the conditional use permit, and if
landscaping died and was not replaced, the Council
could act on the permit.
Blesener asked who will be putting up the bond.
Kaufman replied that Slumberland will.
Hyland reported that the Minnesota Aistorical Society
is looking into the oak tree that is in the area.
There were no further comments from the general public
on this matter.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 89-10-505 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC HEARING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr.
LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Collova.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Page 9
