MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />October 25, 1989 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-10-531 - AUTHORIZING A CLOSED SESSION <br />FOLLOWING THE MEETING TO DISCUSS ACQUISITION OF <br />PROPERTY FOR A NEW FIRE HALL AS REQUESTED BY THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Collova, Scalze, Blesener, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />BOARMAN & The City Attorney reported that in reviewing the <br />ASSOCIATES proposed contract between the City and Boarman & <br />CoNTRACT Associates for architectural services for the new fire <br />hall, the contract covers two phases. The second phase <br />includes full-blown architectural services, and the <br />Attorney stated that it was his understanding that the <br />Council intended services to include only a needs <br />assessment study. <br />Council agreed that this was the intention and <br />authorized the City Attorney to send a letter to <br />Boarman & Associates advising them of this. <br />Blesener reported that Boarman & Associates has <br />requested a workshop session to discuss the needs <br />assessment study. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-10-532 - SCHEDULING A WORKSHOP <br />MEETING FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST, AT 6:30 P.M. TO <br />DISCUSS THE FIRE HALL NEEDS ASSESSMENT STUDY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Scalze suggested that a citizens committee be <br />established to look at the issue of City Hall with a <br />recommendation to be made on whether a City Hall <br />addition should be a part of the Fire Hall, or should <br />be an expansion of the current City Hall building. <br />Page 30 <br />
